Kammerchor Stuttgart is considered one of the leading ensembles of its kind. Founded 50 years ago in January 1968, Frieder Bernius has formed an exceptional choir that is celebrated by audiences and journalists alike. The choir’s repertoire spans from the 17th Century to the 21st Century.

‘No praise is high enough’ wrote Die Zeit newspaper.The unrivalled vocal brilliance of Kammerchor Stuttgartalong with its perfected tonal purity makes for an almost unsurpassable plasticity of text recitation.
 
The choir receives invitations from all major European festivals and has given concerts in numerous renowned concert halls. It was invited to the 1st, 4th and 10th World Symposium for Choral Music in Vienna, Sydney and Seoul. Regular concert tours to North and South America, Asia and Israel reflect the worldwide reputation of Kammerchor Stuttgart. In August 2018, the chamber choir was invited perform a series of concerts in China and Taiwan. Since 1984, this top ensemble has also been biennial guest in Israel, in 2015 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Germany. 40 of the 90 CD-Recordings have been awarded prizes, with the choir most recently receiving the Deutsche Schallplattenkritik for the Mendelssohn CD ‘Lieder im Freien zu Singen’ and for the CD recording of György Ligeti’s Requiem.
